Not all cute boys are geeks, and not all geeks are cute boys, but… sometimes we do get crossover. There's a couple of major geeks who rank for pure emo appeal, and here they are...
Chris Hughes not only helped Harvard pal Mark Zuckerberg found the amazingly successful social network Facebook, he's hailed as the driving force behind Barack Obama's successful media campaign during the 2008 election. Chris has it all - the smarts, the cute haircut, the baby blues and the ambition!
Michael Cera is the epitome of geekdom as the sweatband wearing, shy co-star of the teen film Juno. He somehow has that special something, however! Definitely a cute boy, if a little awkward and finding his feet. He's thin and has the emo hair, the shy demeanor and the bashful grin I just adore.
Adam Brody made being a geek cool with his recurring role as Seth Cohen on The OC. Adam's not only a cute guy, he's unapologetically a geek and says during his four years on the show he pretty much just acted like he does in real life! The powers that be loved it, and apparently the 'Adam Brody' look is a buzzword among Hollywood casting directors these days.
Arjan Timmermans is as cute a boy as you could hope to meet, and a serious geek - in fact, he's the first blogger to ever be given major press credentials. That's a serious accomplishment! His pop-music blog ArjanWrites and concert series Superfraiche are pit stops for those into the emo scene.
Sergey Brin and Larry Page followed Bill Gates from geekdom into billionaire land. An advantage Page and Brin have is that they are also cute boys which offsets their geekiness - Gates, however, will always be a nerd. (But a very, very rich nerd.) Sergey in particular sets off my cute geek alert!
Last but not least, there has to be mention of an up and coming actor from the Nickelodeon ranks - is there a cute nerdy boy anywhere who can compete with Nathan Kress? The 17 year old co-star from iCarly is a geek in real life as well as on the screen, and wins the cutest geek ever award from me.
